Set up is easy, performance and value are good and appearance is nice. Set monitor control in Windows XP to 1600 x 900.
Attaching the stand is tricky. I paid $140.00 plus tax at wholesale club.
Lay the monitor face down on carpet against the wall to keep the piece steady. Take care not to scratch or force anything. The “arrow” side of the “ball” faces the front of the monitor, and the “straight line” side faces you/faces up. Gently but firmly pop the the “ball” into the socket. Then lift the monitor and ball however you feel comfortable and attach and screw the bottom base to the “ball.” Diagram enclosed with the monitor is not as clear as it can be.
I bought this at a local brick & mortar shop. I am putting together a computer set-up for my classroom (with mac mini) and was going to go with a cheaper Acer model until I saw them in the store. This Samsung looked impressive on display: sturdy and sleek, with a picture that popped. The border is glossy – much like my Samsung television. The border on the Acer looked and felt like cheap plastic.
Like another reviewer, I had a problem with the stand. You can’t be gentle with it. I covered the top of my couch with a sheet, put the monitor face up on it, then shoved in the stand as hard as I could.
Since then, there have been no problems. I love this monitor!
Just purchased from a big box store for 10 bucks cheaper than Amazon. You really can’t beat the value of this performance for the price. I’ve owned several Samsung monitors, and all have been excellent. Great picture quality, and longevity. As one reviewer noted, the method of attaching the base to the monitor is a little odd, but once you line up the pegs & holes, it snugs right up.
It does all the things you expect a monitor to do. Windows XP sees it right away & lets me set the resolution to 1600×900 – didn’t even need to install the included software.
Also, for those who don’t know the lingo, the “15 pin D-Sub” connection is the VGA connection than most PCs made in the last 10 years use. No worries about connectivity.

From what I have experienced before, you don't need any new cables. Simply connect the cable from the monitor onto the computer, there should be a slot where it fits, possibly on the side of the laptop. Then press "fn" (its a button with blue letters) and look for another button that has a picture of a monitor. Hit both together.

Hi,
The technical term is that you need to change the aspect ratio of the display for the screen.
To do this you use File > Page Setup. Create a custom paper size that is the same ratio of height to width as your screen.
Then your presentation will fill the screen completely. Make the change before creating the presentation. Presentation will appear stretched if you create it firs then change the paper size.

When we first saw the Memoir at Mobile World Congress in February, we were hoping that the omission of Wi-Fi in the specs was an oversight, but alas, it is not. The Memoir does not have a Wi-Fi radio, which still irks us and should irk you too when you try to upload those 8-megapixel images you captured with it to your Flickr account.
Purchasing and installing PC Studio won't help with that.

samsung hands down…the hp doesn't even support dvi witch is the highest quality available today for PC video. The samsung is a much better monitor all around. HP sucks for video.
