How many ports does it have
Hi. This monitor is common on sale here.
Please, questions:
*How is the visual quality of videos on this monitor?… Without a PCIe graphics card, only the video chipset (256MB – 425MHz) of Motherboard.
*Is the resolution (1920×1080) too high for a 20-inch monitor (to read texts)??
*If there is a significant difference between the W1943S and W2043S??
Thanks.
Great Review. You know your stuff
can u put the monitor on the wall and how
Is the w2043s or w2043t??
thank you again kind sir. now i’m off to download the starcraft 2 trailer in 720p. MUCHOS GRACIAS MI AMIGO!!!!!
Hey Viciousmf,
No, this monitor can not display 1080p.
only 720p in terms of HD Discs.
But in terms of computers, it can go all the way to 900 (1600 x 900)
super helpful. would like to know if monitor can do 1080p? good stuff.
how do you connect your 360 to that monitor? Can I do that with my PS3?
Hey Jam724
No, this monitor does not have built in speakers
does it have bult in speakers??
hey man thanks so much for ur very informative response….i feel like i should pay u ..hehe….ok so i was wondering the same thing about possible compatibility issues with my graphics card…if i wanted to see if my graphics card was utilizing the full 1600 x 900 res where wud i look???….i just checked out my current res and it does in fact list 1600x 900 as my pc/monitors native res…idk what the deal is
**PART 2**
im pretty sure your ATI should have no problem pumping out the full 1080p HD resolution.
These are the only solutions I can think of for you, I hope this helps.
Here are my monitor settings as well:
Brightness – 60
Contrast – 50
Gamma – “-50″
Clock – 50
Phase – 50
Sharpness – 4
Hey Toolkills,
upon checking out your problem, it seem that you are not the only one that has ran into this odd problem.
It would seem that the ATI 4650 Card at the moment doesn’t fully support the native resolution of this monitor. At this point you have three options
1) try a lower 16×9 ratio resolution like 1280×720
2) return the monitor until your card can utilize the monitors native resolution of 1600×900
3) Find a monitor that does 1080p, usually a 21+ inch monitors support 1080p
have u any idea what i may be doing wrong…i just double checked …and here is my current settings…i have an ati 4650hd card ( 1 gig) and the i have the sharpness all the way up and the contrast as well….im using dvi…i know this sounds frantic i just have like 2 days to return this thing so i need to know if the pic may be improved at all…thanx man
i just baught this same monitor to go with my new hp …with an intel i7 processor and a gig ati 4650hd …the still images in this monitor look really nice…but the video looks horrible ….i dont understand what the prob is…maybe its a driver issue…maybe a compatibility thing with the graphics card…i dont know….i have windows 7 home premium……im using a dvi conection…i also adjusted the contrast and sharpness..it still looks muddy and blurry as hell
Thank you for the kind words, we’re happy that we were able to help you our with your computer purchase.
Best wishes
Wonderful work mate. This is the only and best review of this monitor on the whole of youtube. This review has helped me immensely on choosing a PC package that came with this particular monitor.I was hesitating at first because I didn’t knew much about the monitor but now, I am definitely going to purchase that PC package. Thanks again.
It was a bit of a trouble for me to have max resolution on this monitor when used as an external display for my laptop.
I also see some sort of transparent horizontal lines moving up the screen, especially noticeable on very dark images.
Could you confirm if you have any of these problems? I’m using the VGA port.
Hey Andyraven,
Unfortunately this LG monitor only has 1 VGA and 1 DVI port.
However if you still wanted to connect an HDMI Device to the monitor, you can purchase a HDMI to DVI cable, though you will only get image and no sound of course.
Does this have 2 HDMi ports?
