First of all you should buy a DVI to HDMI cable to connect the monitor to your PS3.
The DVI end on your monitor and the HDMI end on your Ps3.

DVI doesn’t carry sounds you know so you you have to run your sounds seperately.

well i kinda have the same problem and i chatted with one of the hp techinal support people and they told me they been having problems and on working on it and a new driver from hp would be avalable shortly
When they say its an HDTV monitor, it means it comes with a built in TV tuner to plug in with your receiver and watch tv. Therefore you can effectively use it as a computer screen AND a TV. The ones with built in TV tuners are usually more expensive (50-100 dollars more) but offer no additional benefit in terms of picture quality compared to the same monitor with no tv tuner.
Any new LCD is an "HD" monitor. "HD quality" is sort of a vague term and really depends on resolution. You can have a monitor that reaches 1920×1080 resolution (most of them do) and thats exactly what resolutions most HD TVs reach (hence the terms 720p or 1080p).

Dead pixels are bullshit. If they are such a rare occurrence, then the manufacturer should take responsibility for them and replace the monitor.

I did a Google search for that error code and came across this little page here:
It explains what the code means, how to check if you're doing everything right, and how to fix your problem if you still recieve it after certain steps.
what does it run? my best time was 14.9
16:10(had problems with 16:9 with older games)
any more than 75hz for refresh and you won't notice a differnce
anything under 5ms is consider good.
I would say get a 42 LCD TV with that. XD it should still be in max resolution with most games with a decent FPS.
