Looks like Dell is getting itself a membership in a club of which AT&T, Nokia, and the US Department of Justice are none too pleased to say they’re members. The company has filed suit in a San Francisco court today against four Japanese LCD makers – Sharp, Hitachi, Toshiba, and Seko Epson – and Taiwan-based HannStar. The crime at hand? None other than the much-chronicled LCD price fixing cartel. At least two of the aforementioned companies (Sharp and Hitachi) have already come forth to admit involvement and pay fines elsewhere, and now it looks like the troubles are still coming for them and others. If only there was some way the companies could band together to increase profits and help pay for these suits… oh, wait.

You get a spare hard drive at least as big as the drive that you currently have, and a copy of Acronis True Image – one that will work for your operating system, which you didn't tell us!
You install the second hard drive in your computer and use True Image to make a back-up copy of the drive to the second drive. Now, you have a copy. I have done this, but I discovered that Norton anti-virus stuff knew that it had been messed with and would not copy correctly. Other than that, the back-up was fine.
Now, you say "manually." Does that mean without software? Well, I don't think that you can do that. Depending on what operating system you have, you can make back-ups of some stuff but not everything. Acronis True Image makes an – almost – complete copy of the hard drive. It also makes it possible, I believe, to make incremental backups over time. This means that it only backs up the part that changes (increments) and not all the hard drive all over again.
Ingenius design!. Fp
What you'll need to do is download "Link Layer Topology Discovery Responder" to your comp that has XP. That is the only way you'll get the two comps to network together.
Here's the link for the download:
Overview
This package contains the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) responder. The network map on a computer running Windows Vista shows a graphical view of the computers and devices on your network and how they are connected by using the LLTD protocol. The LLTD responder must be installed on a computer running Windows XP before it can be detected and appear on the network map. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
you just connect both using a cross cable through lan card give appropriate ip adresses in both and give same DNS and gateway in both and just share file
