This is my secondary monitor for my laptop and works great. I was looking for something that is around 19″ and gives better resolution than 1400 X 1050 on my laptop.
My main use of the unit is for VMs and text though I use it sometimes for graphics.
Gives 1680X 1050 max resolution at 60HZ refresh and well worth the money that you spend on it. It is not the glossy / ultra bright vivid color screen type, though you can use it at high brightness using the pre-sets or custom calibration.
I wish I could rate this monitor higher because for my purposes it’s a five all the way however for someone looking to purchase it as the primary resource the deficiencies in ergonomics compared to other units in the same size range do not justify a higher rating. Then again, there is the price…if the astute shopper is paying attention, this one can be found for less than a Franklin note, and at that price it looks even better.
I use it in a dual view configuration with an upscale Samsung Syncmaster of the same size so the differences in features are clearly evident. Only the tilt angle is adjustable on the Acer so if one has a workspace set-up where nuanced adjustments can be avoided it’s just fine. Even with user defined customization of brightness and sharpness it is not going to match many other pricier models. In native mode, colors are noticeably less bright, although ironically, the color reproduction in graphics modes seems reflect greater accuracy than my premium model so for photo editing I actually use the Acer instead. It also has a text mode for contrasts to assist in reducing eyestrain. If you’re looking for 1080P and HDMI, then you need to get a reality check at this price level.
It will accommodate either DVI or VGA inputs (cables included which was a nice surprise) with 1680 X 1050 or 1600 X 900 (analog) max resolution at 60Hz. Although one might have some reservations regarding construction and performance, it feels sturdy, durable, is well packaged and I didn’t have any dead pixels.
Just about the only complaint I have is the manipulation of the control buttons on the monitor frame takes a little while to get used to as they seem harder to press than one customarily experiences.
Worked perfectly until a week after the store policy expired. Then it went to a completely white screen. Since I need a monitor now, I just trashed it and went with another brand. That’s my first and last time with Acer.

It has a larger cd/m2 and the ration it alot larger 15000:1 rather than 1000:1.
So try too look up what the differences are, they proabably have to do witht pixels or somthing. As for which one is better, i dont think theres much of a diffrence. Either one is good

if you have a windows cd boot from it. to do this wait till the first boot screen and in the top corner or bottom corner it will have boot menu or boot options with a key next to it. press that key then at the next scree you should have the option to boot from cd. if you dont have the cd you may have a recovery partition on your drive that you can boot from using the same steps use that to reinstall windows

Acer first slipped out word about this one last week, but it looks like its new S5200 projector is now actually available, and it packs a few more unique features than your average projector. That includes a 120Hz refresh rate and full support for 3D when paired with a compatible graphics card (and some 3D glasses, of course), along with built-in support for Creston’s home automation system, which will let you operate it from afar and engage in other shenanigans. On the downside, the projector only manages a standard XGA resolution (among other decidedly average specs), so it shouldn’t come as too much of surprise that Acer is pitching it more at classroom use than as one of the first real 3D options for your home theater. Then again, the £650 (or just over $1,000) price tag is certainly home theater-friendly, so go nuts if you feel like it. Your monitor must be plugged into the graphics card port in the back of your computer. If it is a DVI graphics card and your monitor is VGA then you will need to get a converter. Just remember that if you have a graphics card, do NOT plug the monitor into the onboard port but into the graphics card.
The left one is DVI and the right is VGA.

Monitors do not have drivers. Graphics cards have drivers, and if you are having issues, update your graphics card drivers. If that does not work, you maybe have been sold a DOA (dead on arrival) monitor.

It changes sizes because his laptop is a little smaller than his external monitor. Also, both his laptop and monitor weren’t perfectly aligned. If it was the same size and they were aligned perfectly, it would be the same size on both screens.
