nive monitor! is it CRISTAL BRITE? thks!
This monitor is awesome. the 1920×1200 (full HD) resolution makes everything look great. Watching DVDs and Blu-Ray movies on it is simply a far better experience than anything I’ve ever had. The viewing angle leaves a bit to be desired though. All-in-all it’s a great monitor with its 2ms response time and HDMI in. I use it to play my Xbox 360 on in HD.
Hey crash. did you use the HDMI or VGA adapter to this monitor for the xbox 360? because i when i use the VGA adapter for it, the screen stutters and tears when playing any xbox 360 game. Same for when i set my resolution lower than the native 1920 x 1200 using a DVI cable… i wonder the framerate capper is corrupt in it.
I use the HDMI port. VGA is analog so I’d expect at least some problems. Might as well stick to a digital signal if your monitor and system support it.
oh i do for my pc. just my xbox 360 uses the VGA adapter… but what i found out, its my monitor not liking a resolution lower than 1920 x 1200. so i called up acer and they say to send it in which i have to do now…
is this a full HD monitor? and is anything higher than 1080p classed as XHD?thanks.

the best way to watch videos is on a dvd so what you need to do is get your videos on your computer, then write them to dvd.
There are many articles on the internet explaining how this is done in each case (mini dv, dvd, hard disk camcorders)

Most, if not all video editors can do this. In Windows Movie Maker it's one of the effects.

hey jason, after you get done with reviewing the laptops do what do you do with them?
Sounds like a driver problem. Make sure you check your display adapter drivers for compatibility with your X-box. You are right, it should be a simple fix.
I would go into you Device Manager under System in control panel and use the automatic update features first. If that doesn't work, visit your manufacturer's web sites and look for software and driver downloads and updates. Stay away from all the idiotic Driver Detectives and non-OEM sites which will attempt to invade your "update" world when you start Googling web sites and update sites for your gear. They are nothing but ripoffs and totally unnecessary, as well as non-productive.

looks pretty good!
For what you are talking about, there really arn't a lot of things that I can think of that would fit for what you want. One I can think of is response time. This will impact the time you have to react to situations in games so the lower the response time the better. I would go for somewhere around 8 milliseconds or lower. Other than that, there really isn't much that fits what you want. Brightness and contrast, stuff like that doesn't really make a difference because they are all about the same and can be adjusted anyway. If you want higher quality go for a DVI monitor instead of VGA, but once again a game will work just as good on VGA so this really isn't a big deal, but is better for the occasional movie.
One thing that you might look at is whether or not the screen is protected with a glass coating. If it is, there will often be a glare where there would not be if you didn't have the glass. If you want to touch the monitor a lot, get the glass, if not, then don't. I have a non glass one and have had no problems except the occasional friend that pokes it and it messes with the color. Just be careful.
Other than these things, I can't think of anything that will be a big deal for gaming. All monitors come with certain resolutions that games support so no big deal here either. I have a basic LCD that I use for games and have no problems with it, everything works great! Basically, pick the monitor you want, it should work good.
Hope this helps!

Acer will be offering its new Gaming GD245HQbid 3D monitor the folks over in Japan tomorrow. The monitor will be going for 45,000Yen ($486), which is supposedly a decent price. This 23.6-inch monitor sports a 1000:1 contract ratio and a 2ms response time. The downside is that it doesn’t seem to include 3D glasses, so you’ll need to purchase those separately.
